T-Mobile profits up 22 per cent for the year

Chief executive of T-Mobile UK Jim Hyde said: “T-Mobile UK had a good 2007, building on the growth platform we established in 2006 and delivering strong financial results, despite the continued highly competitive mobile market place."

The results also show T-Mobile’s ARPU revenue rose 10 per cent to £2,977 million Profit year-on-year, with total net revenues up eight per cent to £3,293 million.

T-mobile’s customer base, including Virgin Mobile, now stands at 17.3 million, an increase of 400,000 on 2006. Contract subscribers rose 4.4 per cent (165,000) to 3.9 million. Of its four million contract customers, more than two million are subscribed to its Flext tariffs. The number of T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile prepay customers increased 241,000 to 13.4 million, a rise of 1.8 per cent. The network’s non-voice portfolio, including Web’n’Walk, now accounts for 20 per cent of total ARPU, up two per cent year-on-year.
