Fit-PC2i mini desktop PC consumes just 8W at full load

The fit-PC2i, the world’s smallest dual gigabit Ethernet-equipped PC is arriving on the market soon. The fit-PC2i is reportedly one of the most energy-efficient mini PCs, with a rated consumption of just 8W even at full load. It is measured by 4″ x 4.5″ x 1.05″ and weighing under a pound.The fit-PC2i is powered by an Intel Atom Z5xx CPU (from 1.1GHz to 2GHz), and carries up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM and a 2.5-inch HDD. It has good connectivity side, the mini PC features audio in/out, built-in Wi-Fi, four USB 2.0 ports and runs Windows 7. This is world’s smallest desktop which is encased in a 100% aluminum die-cast body.According the company, the mini PC consumes 8W at full load, 6W at low load and under 1W at standby. It is expected that the fir-PC2i would be available on the market after January 2010 and will be priced between $245 and $499 based on the hardware and software options.
