You will not see Virgin Mobile and Helio in seperate for long time. These two companies have started talking about getting merge into one. Since both companies are using Sprint's network, the tech would be compatible, and the deal would give 5K Telecom a way to keep Helio going as it tries to gain a foothold in the US market.
Under one scenario that has been discussed, SK Telecom would buy out VMUSA and do a cash infusion; then Virgin Mobile would buy Helio in an all-stock transaction. Both of the MVNOs run on the Sprint (NYSE: S) network, so at least both run on the same network.
